Hi and as mentioned on my X (formerly Twitter) post, here are my picks.
For mayor, I'm still somewhat undecided. I can't decide between Troy Van-Vliet and Mike Starchuck. Both seem reasonable if you agree there needs to be a change. I could also see myself working with Brenda Locke if she happens to get re-elected.
For council I'd hope you will vote for me obviously but you also can pick 7 others (8 total). I did happen to meet another independent candidate Lisa Alexis who I'd be happy to support. Also one of my friends mother is running with the Imagine Surrey her name is Narima Dela Cruz. Another candidate from Imagine Surrey that caught my eye was Kevin Wilkie. To be fair, I also looked at the Surrey Now slate and would likely also pick Dr. Werner Spangehl and Ollivor Dickson. Aside from them I would also consider 2 other independent candidates namely Tom Said and Salmon Zafer.
For school trustees you can pick 6. I have no problem with the current board. I would caution that my children have all graduated so it might be unfair for me say anything going forward but for reference the incumbants are Gary Tymoschuk, Terry Allen, Bob Holmes, Laurie Larsen, Gary Thind and Shawn Wilson. I could mention there is also a member representing White Rock but she is not on our ballot.
